Calendars by Enzo Mari

Enzo Mari is an Italian designer well known for his avant-grade composite of art and mechanic design.  His initial calendar designs from the 1950's and 1960's are viewed as a relic of advanced modernism.  The black and white desk calendar below is known as the Timor Table Calendar, which shows a numeric date, day of the week, and month.  Today this calendar could be used in a professional setting due to its modern appearance.  The calendar below which resembles a wooden ruler is called the Calendario Bilancia, or Calendar Balance, this calendar also shows a numeric date, day of the week, and month .   Both calendars are a great example of how art can be infused with the principles of mechanics.
